The easiest way to upload your pages via FTP, is to use a program like leech Ftp, Ws_ftp and Cute FTP. Some of these are, free programs, some cost money, but there are a number of free FTP programs out there if you look for them, you will find them.
Type in the ftp host as:
ftp.yourdomain.com
Where yourdomain is YOUR actual domain name.
You will then be prompted to enter your username and password, (please check your welcome letter for login details)
You will then be logged into your root web directory (also called "/") you need to navigate to public_html or www (they are the same, www is just easier to type) and place your home page called index.html (or index.htm or index.php to name a few) page and other files in this folder.
If your program asks for a remote folder, just type in "www" (without the quotes) and it will automatically place you in the public_html (www) folder.
